Smoldering Woman will take place on Summer Solstice Eve, Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
The gathering will be held at Shimmering Light Sanctuary in South Bristol, New York.
Smoldering Woman is open to 100 participants who identify as women.
Youth ages 12–18 who identify as girls/women are welcome with a guardian.
Smoldering Woman is a one-day, participant-created gathering celebrating women’s creativity, expression, connection, and community. The day may include art, music, movement, storytelling, healing offerings, workshops, shared food, ceremony, conversation, laughter, and spontaneous co-creation.
It means the experience is shaped by the women who gather. Participants are invited to bring creativity, presence, ideas, offerings, helping hands, art, music, movement, workshops, conversation, or whatever feels meaningful to contribute.
We will be utilizing an Open Space, evolving schedule, co-created by participants together in real-time.
Your presence matters! Some participants may offer a workshop, song, poem, art activity, food, helping hand, or healing practice. Others may contribute through conversation, listening, support, setup, cleanup, or sharing in the experience.
Please bring what helps you feel comfortable for the day, such as:
✦ Food
✦ Picnic supplies
✦ Water
✦ Chair or blanket
✦ Layers
✦ Sun protection
✦ Comfortable shoes
✦ Shade, such as an umbrella or EZ Up tent
✦ Anything you may want to share or gift
Participants need to bring their own picnic food and water. There will also be a shared feast around 5:00 PM, shaped by what people bring and share.
Yes. Smoldering Woman is an alcohol-free and substance-free gathering centered around connection, creativity, nature, self-expression, and community.
Participants are invited to bring gifts to share freely, without expecting anything in return. A gift could be a tangible item, service, experience, creative offering, act of care, work of art, song, snack, poem, conversation, helping hand, or many other things.
Tickets will be offered through a Create Your Own Ticket Price model. Each person lives a different economic reality, and this approach allows participants to contribute in a way that reflects both their circumstances and their desire to help make the gathering possible.
The event will take place rain or shine. An 8,000 square foot Great Barn allows lots of flexibility. Participants are encouraged to dress for the day and bring layers, sun protection, rain protection, and anything needed for comfort outdoors.
To help keep the gathering comfortable and safe for all participants, pets are not allowed at Smoldering Woman. Service animals are welcome.
Please contact us ahead of time if you have questions about accessibility or service animal needs.
Youth ages 12–18 are welcome with a guardian. This gathering is designed for participants who identify as women.
There will be an open, evolving schedule. Some shared anchors are planned, including an opening ceremony around 12:30 PM, a shared feast around 5:00 PM and a fire ceremony around 8:00 PM. Most of the day will be shaped by participant offerings and shared experience.
