Smoldering Woman is a one-day festival of women’s co-creation, power, and connection with Mother Earth!
Imagine exuberant expressions of wisdom, performance art, embodied movement, fire & water ceremonies, music, visual arts, healing arts, collaboration, giving & receiving, song & dance, costumes, joy, and more! With an open, evolving event schedule, participants will co-create the experience.

A Gathering We Create Together
Smoldering Woman Fest is grounded in the knowing that every woman brings her unique wisdom, skills, and experience to any gathering. These gifts are invited to be freely and creatively expressed in this nascent space we hold together.
What has been smoldering in you that longs to be expressed?
Whether through art, movement, music, storytelling, healing work, performance, workshops, costume, conversation, helping hands, or presence itself — participants shape the festival together. No two gatherings will ever be exactly the same.

What you might experience and/or offer:

What Will You Bring?
You are invited to bring everything you need and whatever helps you feel comfortable for the day- your own picnic food, water, chair, blanket, layers, and anything you may want to share.
Smoldering Woman is inspired by Gift Culture. Participants are invited to bring gifts to share freely — tangible items, services, experiences, creativity, support, or acts of care — without expectation of receiving something in return.
A gift might be a listening ear, a helping hand, shared snacks, a work of art, a compliment card, a healing offering, a costume piece, poem, a song, a dance, a workshop, a bracelet, a skill, a conversation, or a moment of beauty.
This is a day where we can cultivate and celebrate collaboration over consumption, generosity over transaction, and interdependence over independence. Sound freeing? We hope so!
A Sober Gathering
At Smoldering Woman, connection is the elixir. This is an alcohol-free, substance-free gathering celebrating connection with one another, Mother Earth, and our own true nature.
You are invited to come as you are, bring what you can, and add your energy to the circle!
Who Is Invited?
Smoldering Woman is open to 100 participants who identify as women.
Youth ages 12–18 who identify as girls/women are welcome with a guardian.
This is an intergenerational gathering for women who feel a longing for deep connection, shared wisdom, fresh inspiration, creative expression, and Earth-honoring community.
Where We’ll Gather
Shimmering Light Sanctuary, South Bristol, NY
For many years, this land was home to Shimmering Light Farm & Renewal Center. Now, after three years of rest and re-wilding, the land is teeming with life and beginning to welcome human community again in a new way.
Rain or shine, we will gather here together. An 8,000 square foot Great Barn offers additional space for shelter, gathering, movement, and connection throughout the day.
